About
Pamela C. Rice has a passion for creating children's books. Since August 2015, she has published 25 titles, including "When the Brown Bird Flies," "The Painting Speaks," "Aaron's Dreams," and "Rufus Finds A Prize." Each book is beautifully illustrated by Rice and expresses her childhood experiences and inspirations in a way that children will find fun, imaginative, and educational.
"The Painting Speaks" is particularly enriched with contributions from internationally celebrated artists such as Synthia Saint James, Evita Tezeno, and Clyde D. Lewis. This collaboration results in a captivating story about a young girl who discovers her love for art during a visit to a local gallery with her class, revealing the wonders of fine arts that "speak to her." Both parents and children will undoubtedly adore this tale.
One of Rice's recent books, "When The Brown Bird Flies," recounts the early childhood experiences of her dear friend, decorated Tuskegee Airman pilot Jack Lyle.
Growing up surrounded by creativity, Rice feels destined to write and illustrate for children. Her father was a commercial artist, and with over 30 years of experience in advertising, graphic design, and visual communications, Rice has received high recognition and numerous accolades, including over 40 design awards. She has made guest appearances as a lecturer at the Illinois Academy of Design and Merchandising, as well as at Northeastern Illinois University. Additionally, she has taught at the University of Illinois-Chicago in the Principal Scholar's Program and at Alverno College in Milwaukee, WI.
Pam has illustrated works for various authors, including Raven Howell, Anna K. Morris, and Donna Beasley, among others. Over the years, she has developed her unique illustrative style and is excited to create content that both parents and children can enjoy.
